Is It True That the Kardashians Will Be

Snubbed at This Year’s Met Gala?

Without the Kardashians, it would be difficult to picture the present, Met Gala. after allegedly refusing for years. When Kim Kardashian finally climbed the Met stairs in 2013 while being held by her now ex-husband, at least one member of the famous family attended every gala. The gradual Kardashian takeover of the largest fashion event last year peaked when all five sisters were admitted, concluding the Gilded Glamour red carpet as a cohesive one.

It appeared that the reality stars were finally receiving recognition after years of pounding on the door of the exclusive high fashion circle. Now, however, as we get ready for the 2023 Met Gala, the news is spreading that for the first time in a decade, KarJenner won't be attending at all. Though it appears unlikely, might the rumors be true in any way?

The quick response is probably not. The report seems first rather shady. Anna Wintour is allegedly "breaking down on the guest list at the annual fashion fete—and no Kardashians will make the cut," according to sources cited by Page Six. Vogue hasn't yet addressed the claims and probably never will. Anything about guest lists is often kept quite

The KarJenners have developed a similar level of ties to the Met Gala over the years as frequent attendees like Blake Lively, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Wintour. Kim has demonstrated that she has no intention of giving up her highly sought-after invitation, attending every year since 2013. The partnership has benefited both parties.

The KarJenners benefit by going to one of the most talked-about fashion events of the year, and the Met Gala benefits from the extra attention that accompanies the family everywhere they go. Not that the Met Gala requires such publicity, though. It performs admirably both on its own and with the assistance of many other A-list celebrities.

The Kardashians (at least some of them) have undoubtedly earned their status in the realm of high fashion at this time as well. There have been many more attendees throughout the years with questionable claims than the actual stars.

Vogue was making a statement when they replaced André Leon Talley as its red carpet correspondent with Emma Chamberlain: opinions and fandom take precedence over heritage. There's little chance for Chamberlain, Addison Rae, and the other YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram stars who have grown accustomed to expecting an invitation if the Kardashians aren't invited this year.

Yet, there is some historical evidence suggesting that the 2023 Met Gala won't have at least Kim. This year's celebration will pay tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld, who was never afraid to express his outspoken views, some of which were directed at the reality star.

In 2016, shortly after Kim was held up at gunpoint in her hotel room in Paris, Lagerfeld gave an interview with The Telegraph in which he discussed his thoughts on the situation.

He remarked, "I don't understand why she was in a hotel without security. If you're so well-known and you post all of your valuables online, you should check into a hotel where no one can access the room, according to the saying. "You cannot flaunt your money and then be surprised that some people want to share it with you," he concluded.

Kim recalled Lagerfeld with affection even after his harsh, uninvited remarks about a painful event when he passed away in 2019. Kim was photographed by the designer for a spread in CR Fashion Book back in 2013 while she was carrying North West, and the creator of Skims posted photos from the set after learning of Lagerfeld's passing.

We lost a real legend, she penned. "You were such a source of inspiration for everyone! I was very terrified to work with such an icon when you did my first fashion session! Because of you, the world is so much sexier! I feel really privileged to have known you and had the chance to collaborate with you. You are adored and greatly missed.

It's not all that shocking. When it comes to criticism, the Kardashians seem to have a short attention span, but it may be a necessary sort of self-defense when you're a member of one of the most ridiculed families in the world. Yet, Kim and Kourtney have shown they are prepared to forgive the past when it comes to their readiness to work with Dolce & Gabbana. Kim also demonstrated that she isn't harboring resentment with her memorial post for Lagerfeld four years ago, so even though she isn't compensated for attending the Met Gala, she is likely to have no problem commemorating him there.

Kendall Jenner, meanwhile, has a better chance of receiving an invitation. She appeared on the Chanel catwalk several times under Lagerfeld. In bridal attire, she even finished the autumn 2015 couture presentation.

So, will the Kardashians attend this year's, Met Gala? The answer likely is yes. Expect to see at least part of the KarJenner contingent there, if not all of them. In addition, Kim is surely salivating at the prospect of wearing all of the vintage outfits in Lagerfeld's designer vault. She won't miss the chance to get attention by flashing another angry mob-inspiring expression, for sure.
