Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Refinery29, and More: 2023 Fashion Trends
Hey everyone. Today
we are going to be breaking down British publications Harper's Bazaar, who what
where L refinery29, and Vogue. What I have done basically is go on the internet
and find all of their top fashion trends for 2023, put them in my little csv
file, and we'll be discussing them. The small chart transforms into a vibrant
fiesta by matching up fashions that people were expressing similarly to one
another and then identifying the outliers that were essentially at odds with
one another. As stated in the disclaimer of the blog, fashion trends are
essentially just Art In Motion
they are what
designers are considering and drawing from their most recent inspiration.
However, this does not necessarily mean that you need to go out and burn
through your bank account to buy all of these trends. I always like conducting
a wardrobe declutter, and my worst dread is eliminating anything that I later
discover is in style that year. This is why I love filming these movies before
the start of the year. Moreover, I like reading all of your comments below. Let's
begin the discussion by talking about mermaid core.
Last year was the
year that sort of quote unquote core fashion emerged, and I really think that
Tick Tock took hold of a lot of that coming to the Forefront with Regency Corps
and Regency core was heavily inspired by Bridgeton now this year on the runway
we are seeing something called mermaid core and by these images from the runway
some people take it so seriously like blue marine or even moshing ha. at
Versace, in the season of 2020. The fall 2022 collection included head-to-toe
scales, though some referred to them as sequins don't click off just yet but
Harry Styles music for a sushi restaurant, or simply staring at the
ever-beautiful Gigi Had walking for Altamira what a freaking dream to do it in
the collection
I had to immediately bring up this article
from GQ because, well, mermaid core okay, so how can we wear this some of these
pictures from Harper's Bazaar that head to toe sequin not only reserved for New
Year's anymore, babe? and especially the hue that you'll be seeing this year.
We'll speak more about cobalt blue in particular, as well as other colourful
trends, towards the end of the blog. That's actually how you can combine what
you currently have in your closet with what's popular when it comes to trends.
One of the things I am always so eager to see is the hemlines, cuts and
necklines, and this year with the mermaid trend, you'll be seeing a lot more of
that halter top.
I know this is what I
am most anticipating because your girl loves jumper weather, and finally this
year knitwear is still in style. However, it will be done differently than you
might imagine in front of a fireplace because we are talking about cobweb
weaves, which are so large that you can add one through a purse or even
incorporate some of the natural elements because when you think of mermaids,
you naturally think of the beach and the ocean, so things like shells and
pearls will naturally play a significant role in these amazing accessory pieces.
Giorgio Armani, 88 years old, standing there with his brand-new line of
designs, and this is a quote coming out of Milan Fashion Week. He was saying to
a reporter, "I cannot manage making clothes with..." I love noticing
how much these Trends intersect, so this is one. If you don't like wearing
sequins because they itch or are just a little bit too extravagant for you, you
can still enjoy this trend by adding a little bit of liquid metal. Typically,
we see this in the fall and winter months but less frequently in the spring and
summer.
I also love how Chloe created a dress made entirely of leather. Look, a lot of other designers are kind of copying this; it's a fun way to embrace colour and pattern and mix and match these layers and these frills, but one place where we frequently get trends like this is from pop culture, and if you've seen White Lotus, you've probably noticed Porsche's looks. Yes, Porsha the assistant character had some pretty iconic looks, some of which just constantly kept me staring at the screen not because they were particularly eye-catching but rather because they were. and they intend to stay.
We are mostly focusing on 1990s fashion, which was more than just fashion that was illiterate throughout the 1990s Russian War. I especially like this photo of Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt. You'll see a lot of these layering items when it comes to the 90s, and Naomi Campbell is another person whose style absolutely shouts the decade. Ballet flats continue to be popular footwear. I wasn't sure whether that was going to occur because this became a popular trend in 2022, but I feel like I haven't seen them styled and worn as often as I would have liked to.
I believe there is some potential here, and ballet core is another company that is following this trend. A year ago, sheer clothing with all of the skin showing was cut out, and feminine forms are still very much in the trend report. However, in my opinion, sheer clothing has been elevated; I'm so sorry. However, the internet is literally afraid of nipples, so I had to cover them all.
Trend a stunning bra underneath that is also sort of a shirt with a large blazer. Where are my denim women at because denim is gaining center stage, but some fashion writers were screaming, "Woo! We're out of the woods with low rise and tight jeans," so I feel like that would just be the chef's kiss." While thinking about denim fashion trends, keep in mind that many of the jeans we'll be discussing are going to be denim on denim, as seen in the Chloe fashion show, or even gigantic denim. Because no one can see the size of your jeans, buy the ones that fit comfortably.
If you are accustomed to being in a really certain Zone, who knows? After all, Dior, Chloe, and Tabby are doing it, so why can't we? We're finally stating that ladies should always have pockets. I wish I knew more about the history of the cargo pant, particularly how it came to be associated with practical fashion. You're going to notice more and more pockets and utility wear coming to the Forefront of Fashion on the High Street so remember when I was talking about the cuts of things so let's talk about pockets in trousers, dresses, sweaters and everywhere else.
Trend really wanted to come back but I'm here for it because I love a pocket. We are noticing a little bit longer hemlines, particularly column dressing, which is when you get a dress that reaches the floor all the way down. Haley Bieber has been wearing this style for a while, and her classic black strapless column dress just makes it look so chic. If you're one of my office babes out there, you should also know that on the knee is also very much in style so your pencil skirt. As I'm saying this, I'm convincing myself that this is a cool Trend and another reason why I love making these blogs because, once again, it's just Art in Motion and a way to express yourself.
I want to have a train on my wedding dress but I just don't know if I've imagined myself wearing it like this. However, when I do see some of these dresses, for example the Victoria Beckham dress and a little bit of a train on the side yeah that definitely adds. In this last image, wearing incredibly long earrings is a way to participate even if you don't have pierced ears. I also want to provide you an alternative if you don't have pierced ears. We were going for those little baby purses a couple of years ago, but no no we have stuff we have things to do and we have things to carry and big bags are going to be it.
I remember seeing that YSL huge tote and thinking oh my goodness I could put a child inside. Finally, the trend that we can all kind of participate in even from what we already have in our wardrobes if you have some colour in there these are the colors that are going to be trending for 2023. about how beautiful Carolina Herrera is of all the designers out there that is the brand I am manifesting the most for my future.
If you're not completely on the blue train, perhaps green is more your style. Cobalt blue is the hue I've mentioned, and I believe it looks simply stunning on everyone. It gives me a sense of strength and integrity, and I don't know, it just speaks to my soul. Bananas from Bodega and Bali's calendar I've already mentioned neutrals, but just to give another quick nod to how diverse neutrals can really show up on a Runway, the last bold colour I'll discuss is saffron. Saffron is an Orange-ready Punchy colour that is just like wow when you see it. If you walk into the room wearing a full saffron outfit, you're definitely going to turn heads.
And the runways of Farrago, Bat ago, Valetta, and As more
and more weddings emerge this year after being delayed by the pandemic,
including mine, I am thrilled to find that whites are still a tremendously
popular trend. I love wearing outfits like this because they almost make
dressing so simple where you don't really have to accessories too much because
the dress is already saying so much. So there you have it here are all my
credits from this blog these were all the articles that I looked into to
dissect and pull from and I'm just going to say I've been seeing so many
dresses like this on Zara's website and I also have pieces already from Zara
I'll show you a couple of pictures of that but I love all these.
