How to wear the hottest summer 2023 styles (maxi skirts in denim, lace, and jorts)
I put them together so there should be a lot of fun now I'm not going to include in the 17 you know my shoes and accessories but I will have all of the items well most of them anyway underneath the blog description and also in the comments so I cannot wait to show this to you let's go so let's start with the tops that I would choose and a basic white shirt right now this is cotton and linen and it's available for only twenty dollars and I also like the way that uh you can read there's a
button here and I can roll up the
sleeves if I want it's just beautiful.
I liked it so much I also bought it
you've read me wear this in pink
and for my complexion this pink really livens up my face and again oh
there you go I already have them kind of
rolled up here to give you an idea and
these shirts are twenty dollars and if
you don't like the pink they're also
available in 24 different colors and
next we need a white T-shirt and this
one is really lightweight and flowy it's
available for about twenty-three dollars
it does come in other colors as well and
I'm going to definitely suggest.
if you way t-shirts are now kind of gray and yellow it's time to kind of spruce them up a little bit I also wanted to show you that it also comes in long sleeves and I like having that for those cooler nights and those cooler summer days okay so the next item that I have I love this top love the pattern on it as well it's lightweight and these flutter sleeves they kind of hide the tops of my arms a little bit and this is great you know when the weather's like 100 degrees out it's available in 12 other colors and it also comes in a long sleeve now another top that we need and that is you know something to go for long walks in or maybe to ride our bikes this is from Jack Smith it's available for 28 dollars and it's perfect for that.
I'm going to suggest here is one of my items out of the 17 that you're going to need a camisole a white camisole again this is
great for going underneath maybe a
jacket you want to stay a little bit cool or maybe a dress that's a little bit more low-cut available in lots of different colors and this one's available for thirteen dollars now as I
mentioned I'm going to put kind of a
slideshow lookbook of 30 different outfits that I've put together for you and I also have the belts the hats and a
lot of the other items as well.
if you're interested in checking out a lot of my favorites including my makeup skincare even housewares you can find those at amazon.com shop slash awesomeover50 you always pay the same as Amazon usually charges okay so with those tops we need some bottoms and let's start with my new favorite pair of jeans they're by nydj which means not your daughter's G genes they have got so much stretch and this color is called Habana and the style look at the stretch in that and the style is called Sherry slim so those are great pants also we need another color in our wardrobe.
you're going to notice that I'm not going to show black because the color is really what you want to wear in the summertime so here I have a pair of tote pants and again they're super stretchy all these pants are going to be stretchy as a matter of fact most of the clothes are going to be stretchy but nice big waistband here to hold your tummy in these are available in lots of other colors and they're forty dollars by a company called rikucci and what would summer be without a pair of white pants.
so these are also made by Rikucci they've got the faux fly tummy
holding extra stretch and again they're
only forty dollars so uh yeah those are
the pants that I'd be wearing now
wear shorts if you want but as you know
for me I love to wear escort so stylish
it's got lots of stretch in it for these
ones these are from belief and also
this particular style has three Pockets
so there's even a pocket in the back
as well and again there's the skirt
part and underneath.
I don't know if you can read this but there are the little
shorts there so um now I like this so much I also bought it in white so there's a really nice choice for you there and it's available in 14 other colors and again the white is forty dollars as well next let's look at jackets and you need a tailored one for sure I just rolled up the sleeves on this one it's all lined and it comes in other colors but Navy is so I don't know it's so classy for the springtime or spring and the summer and this one's available at 58 dollars now you're also going to need a casual one.
the jean jacket it's still trending this is super stretchy it's got all the details The Grommet you know the metal buttons and everything and it's by Lee and it's available for about 39 dollars now I'd be remiss if I didn't mention one of my favorite cover-ups for the summer and that's the beach cover-up in a kimono style and uh look at how lightweight this is it's available for about twenty-three dollars in 12 different patterns and colors.
what I like to do is just wear a cami underneath and you'll notice that the arms they're they're really large so you get a lot of airflows and it's perfect for those hot summer days okay so next let's feature a fancy dress you know for events and weddings and although I would oh you know that red one that I just love with the kind of designer Cape like sleeves I wanted to show you something a little more conservative.
that's this one here it's such a pretty dress it does have the ruching around the front and also in the back to the kind of hide your tummy a little bit it's available for forty dollars and this one is Navy please in the summertime try to stay away from the little black dress and let's get into color this is a slimming still in Navy and it also has a working zipper in the front as well and I really do love this dress and don't forget the lookbook slideshow of 30 different outfits.
I put together is coming up soon and if you like blogs like this don't forget to subscribe there's a button down there somewhere and don't forget to click on the Bell so we have a fancy dress but we also need summery dresses and I love this one it's kind of looks like a wrap-around has a belt and this is in a navy and white polka dot and I'll be modeling this for you later it's available for about 43 dollars and again I like this style so much I also bought it in a red floral so pretty.
you know if you want to stay cool this summer and look absolutely awesome do think about wearing a dress again and you don't have to wear high heels with these you can wear flats or even a pair of kids' sneakers works with them so the wearing the dresses again they're absolutely I don't know they just feel so pretty on and they look amazing all right so now is the moment you've been waiting for so let's look at the slideshow of 30 different outfits that I put together with these pieces and let's go foreign thank you.
Floour, flo, floral, I can't say
it. (Upbeat music) ♪ Alexasunshine83 it's always
sunny here! Bop! ♪ Hey sunshine,
Alexasunshine83 is right here. So summer is fast approaching, it is already quite
toasty where I live so I apologize if there's any sweat that comes down my
face. With that, I wanted to do a summer trends styling blog, about how I will be
styling these summer trends. Of course, you do not have to follow trends,
literally wear whatever makes you happy.
I like to look at trends in a
very lighthearted manner. And not necessarily do like a copy and paste and more
get like inspiration from them. And it makes the new season also a little
exciting, especially with summer because- I really dislike summer. The
first summer trend that I wanted to do is jorts. In that summer trends blog, I
was like what's the difference between Bermuda shorts and jorts, and I finally
realized what it is. It reads to be number one, baggy, so a looser fit,
kind of longer short. They do tend to be low-rise, mid-rise, personally, I'm
gonna be, um, sticking to high-rise. I ended up taking just some jeans that I
had thrifted probably six months ago. They're originally from wild fable.
I had gotten them at Savers.
I really wasn't wearing them
because they had holes in the knees, so I did end up just cutting them. I
think that's a perfect option. Honestly, with shorts in general, if you
have some jeans that you just aren't wearing but you especially like the rise
on them and you're picky in the length of your shorts, just take some old pair
of jeans and cut them. These did have holes in the knees so it does look a
little bit odd because of the front being a little bit shorter than the back
but I think it still does work. With the first outfit, I styled with these
shorts.
I went for kind of the go-to
formula when it comes to baggy bottoms and tight tops, and just went with this
white crop top. I think it also adds a delicate addition with these shorts
because in most cases the way I've read them styled is very kind of like street
style, so I wanted to make it a little bit more I guess like frilly in a way. I
did want to play a little bit with the silhouette by pairing a longer t-shirt
with the shorts. If I'm gonna be honest, this is a very normal outfit that
I would wear in the house during summertime.
I don't think it's the most
unique or creative outfit. I also saw a lot of people styling these with longer
boots and this is something that's definitely outside of my comfort zone. I do
pair longer boots with shorts but not like longer shorts with then long
boots. And I had read it a couple times so I was like I'm just gonna put it
together. And I wouldn't say that this would be necessarily my go-to to
style these shoes with these shorts but I definitely think it has a nice
element.
And I would almost say I would
style the boots with then more of a frilly kind of feminine delicate top with
the shorts. I think, at least with the color, kinda looks a bit off but I did
just want to style them in another way and try something different (laughs).
Obviously, florals, floral chokers, flower, floor, flo, floral, I can't say
it. Floral accessories galore. I, yeah, I've been reading everywhere and I
ended up thrifting this dress.
Actually when I did my Daisy
Jones come thrift with me, and I'm so happy I did. It fits so perfectly on me, and I just really
love the silhouette. It is definitely something outside of my comfort zone. And
I think with styling, it's not necessarily gonna be a very like casual piece
but it does work with this trend so perfectly (laughs). As you read, I did
decide to kind of play up the dress, just with some chunky boots. It is
something that is a loud dress, in that a lot is going on, so I feel
like with styling, I kind of kept it quite simple (laughs).
I also wanted to try a more
casual way of styling it and I don't know how casual it is, especially since I feel
like the denim doesn't actually really work with the dress. So, this one I
still wanted to show the outfit because I had created it but it's definitely
not my favorite. I really wanted to do the full black outfit trend for summer
because obviously a lot of people don't wear full-on black during summertime. After all, it radiates heat and makes you sweat more. I'm gonna sweat no matter
what, so who cares if it makes me sweat even more.
At least it won't show it
(laughs). For my first full black outfit, I wanted to play with the textures
and the type of pieces I was pairing together with the full outfit being black
you kind of lose a lot of the details. So, really paying attention, again, to
all the different pieces that you are adding because wearing a full black
outfit can read boring but I think the pieces that you end up
adding are what make a kind of an impact.
And obviously with laying multiple black pieces that's what's going to kind of
help with the styling but during summertime it's a little hard to layer.
A trend that I've already styled
in a couple of spring outfit blogs, which I will have linked, is lace.
And I think with reading lace and read-through pieces, we very much have been
reading it in one way. And so, I kind of wanted to style this trend differently and maybe show, again, you don't have to just do it how it's
being shown. So I had thrifted these shorts, they're very 90's, very fun,
high-rise, they're so cool. And they do have lace on them, so I feel like it
still kind of keeps in line with the trend because they do have quite a lot
going on.
I wanted to keep it quite simple
by just pairing this baby tee. Another way to style lace that isn't, again,
just the lace read-through dress, is with some socks or tights. Again,
obviously, with summer, it depends on how hot it is. But I have these lace socks,
a lot of people hate them, um. I definitely understand the holes in the knee,
it is a little bit much. But they're very fun and I feel like going for tights
or stockings with a particular trend a lot of times is safe in trying a trend
because you can pair it with an outfit that you already feel comfortable with
if it is something that's outside of your comfort zone. I paired it with some
cowboy boots.
I mean these cowboy boots are so
fun. And another trend that I ended up not doing but I guess I kind of did is
red, which is definitely something that I will be rocking this summer. The last
summer trend I wanted to style and show how to style is a maxi denim skirt. I
also got this maxi skirt in my come thrift with me online blog and I had
mentioned in there that it- because the zipper doesn't go all the way down it
is such a struggle to put on, even though the waist is actually quite loose on
me. A lot of people said to put it over my head but I can't get it over my
shoulders, so the only way I can put it on is the other way. I did put in one to
style for this blog, which the first outfit is very simple like this is going
to be this is already my go-to with my other denim skirt.
And if you are, know, a little
uneasy about the denim maxi skirt, I know a lot of people hate them, going for
just something simple, a little baby
tee, some ballet flats. I do like the idea of the ballet flats with the denim
maxi skirt because obviously it's covering a lot of skin and there's something
nice about like ya ankle and some of your foot pokin' out. I do love the
denim maxi skirt with some, y'know, chunky boots as well.
So, I paired my red chunky Doc
Martens with it and it just, oh my gosh, there's something about a denim maxi
skirt and like some chunky boots that just makes me feel very powerful. And I
then went with a black tube top. I think a tube top in any color, in any
pattern, anything with a denim maxi skirt is so adorable, and I definitely want
to get more to just re-create this outfit multiple times. Maybe something for a
summer night or summer dinner is going for denim on denim with the denim maxi
skirt. I wanted to pair my crop denim jacket with this maxi skirt, just because
it is a lot of denim on the bottom that then put a looser fit denim jacket.
I felt like would swallow me up
in denim, which I don't mind. Alrighty, thank you all so much for reading. As
always, 99% of everything I showed in this blog was thrifted. So, if you do
like thrifting and secondhand fashion, then make sure you subscribe right down
